Not every screened space has a pool under it. Patio enclosures and deck enclosures are their own job: we anchor to your existing slab or deck, tie the frame into the house wall, and either screen under the roof you already have or build a new roof over it. That last decision is the one that moves the budget, so we settle it on the first visit.

Door placement is worth thinking about before we build rather than after. Most homeowners want one door to the yard and one to the pool deck or driveway, and self-closing hardware matters if children use the space. On decks we check that the framing can carry the anchors before anything is ordered, because a screen enclosure loads a deck differently than furniture does.

Every enclosure we build is permitted. A pool cage or screen enclosure is a structural aluminum assembly, and structural work is excluded from Florida's 2026 under-$7,500 permit exemption, so a small job still needs a permit. Plant City addresses inside the city go through the city building division; addresses outside it go through Hillsborough County. We confirm which one your parcel falls under before we quote, then pull the permit, upload the sealed drawings, meet the inspectors and close the permit out.

If the cage is doing double duty as your pool barrier, the Florida Building Code allows a standard screen enclosure to count as all or part of the required barrier, provided it meets every barrier requirement on its own, including height, no climbable or squeeze-through gaps, and self-closing, self-latching doors. Your inspector signs off on that at final. If you want a separate perimeter, aluminum fencing is the other route.
